Marissa Buie

Marissa has been improvising since 2008 when the fine people of Marymount Manhattan College's troupe Nutz & Boltz took a chance on the then improv newbie. Since then she's been hooked. While in New York City, Marissa took classes at Magnet Theater. Upon transferring to Smith College she joined neighboring school Hampshire College's improv troupe, NDC. After graduating, Marissa lived in her home state of Minnesota for a year where she took classes and bartended at HUGE Theater. She also participated in HUGE's improvathon as part of the duo Small Town Gay Bar with her friend Gubby Kubik. Marissa spent the past summer in Chicago training at iO's summer intensive and is now happy to call ImprovBoston home. She is excited to be part of Harold Night as a member of Viceroy in addition to being a part of the Sunday NXT cast at Improv Asylum. When not onstage you can find Marissa writing, working the bar out front, baking croissants or pickling beets in her kitchen.
